At Hope Fellowship, we care deeply about the spiritual growth of middle and high school students. We believe that students are not merely the “future” of the church, but an important part of the church right now. It is our conviction that students can know the Lord personally, grow in spiritual maturity, and develop a faith that shapes every area of life. Because of this, we gather twice each month during the school year for Hope Fellowship Youth Group, open to all students in grades 6–12.
Our goal is to create an environment where students are welcomed, known, challenged, and encouraged. Each gathering includes a combination of fun activities, biblical teaching, meaningful discussion, and prayer. We usually begin with games and activities that help students connect and build friendships. These can range from outdoor games like Capture the Flag to the occasional (optional!) cicada tasting.
After games, students gather for a time of teaching centered on Scripture. Our teaching is designed to be understandable, engaging, and spiritually challenging, helping students learn how to read, understand, and apply the Bible to everyday life. We want students to see that God’s Word speaks clearly and meaningfully into the questions, struggles, and decisions they face.
Following the teaching time, students divide into small groups by age and gender. These groups provide an opportunity for deeper discussion, personal application, and prayer. Small groups are an important part of youth group life, helping students build relationships and grow in Christian community.
Students from public, private, and homeschool backgrounds attend from communities across the western suburbs. Pastor Jared Cochrum leads the youth group alongside a committed team of volunteers who care deeply for students and their walk with Christ.
If you are a middle or high school student, we would love to have you join us!
