Mission

Hope Fellowship seeks to joyfully proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to ourselves, our neighbors, and the world by the power of the Holy Spirit for the glory of God.

Hope Fellowship is a local body of believers striving to be a joyful, gospel-centered, Christ-exalting church in the Western Suburbs of Chicago for the glory of God and the good of our neighbors.

We aim to be a church that demonstrates the love of Christ and a passion for his supremacy by living missionally in our neighborhoods, planting other churches in the Chicagoland area, and reaching out to all nations by sending gospel workers cross-culturally.

History

Hope Fellowship was planted in Lombard in 2011 by College Church, with the goal of reaching the western suburbs of Chicago. Founding pastor Jeff Brewer and his wife Jen envisioned a church that was doctrinally sound, firmly rooted in God’s Word, and committed to reaching the surrounding community. By God’s grace, and through partnership with College Church, that vision became Hope Fellowship. Jon Trott was hired soon after as the associate pastor.

The church met for several years in various locations in Lombard. During that time, the church committed to encouraging members to live out their faith both with one another in godly fellowship, and among neighbors and friends who did not know the Lord.

In 2021, Jared Cochrum (a Wheaton native) joined the pastoral staff after serving in a pastoral ministry in Philadelphia. Soon after, the Lord called both Jeff Brewer and Jon Trott to other ministry work. In September 2022 Eric Channing was hired as Hope's new lead pastor. Both Eric and Jared have ties to College Church, with Eric serving as a pastor there for 10 years before coming to Hope and Jared having grown up in the church.

Throughout the church’s history, the Lord has shown Hope Fellowship a great deal of kindness and favor. We praise him as we look back on the many ways he has established and sustained Hope Fellowship!
