Mission
Hope Fellowship seeks to joyfully proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to ourselves, our neighbors, and the world by the power of the Holy Spirit for the glory of God.
Hope Fellowship is a local body of believers who are striving to be a joyful, gospel-centered, Christ-exalting, fellowship in the Western Suburbs of Chicago for the glory of God.
It is our desire to be a church that demonstrates the love of Christ and a passion for his supremacy by living missionally in our neighborhoods, planting other churches in the Chicagoland area, and reaching out to all nations by sending gospel workers cross-culturally.
Hope Fellowship partners with our sending church, College Church in Wheaton, in local ministry. We also partner with other like-minded churches through the regional Chicago chapter of The Gospel Coalition.
History
In August of 2010, an informational gathering was held in Lombard for those who were interested in helping to plant a church in the Lombard, Villa Park, and Elmhurst communities led by Pastor Jeff Brewer from College Church in Wheaton. After this informational meeting the next month a men's Bible study was begun at a local Starbucks in order to train men in the study of the Word and to develop leaders for the church.
In November 2010, monthly worship gatherings began on Saturday nights at the Lombard Community building and a core team gathered each Sunday morning at College Church in the adjacent Brown House where core team members prayed and studied the Word together and prepared for the launch of Sunday morning gatherings.
On April 10, 2011, Hope Fellowship officially began Sunday morning worship services in Lombard with our first Easter together being celebrated on April 25. In July 2011, Jon Trott began to serve as Associate Pastor, having been sent and supported from New Covenant Bible Church in St. Charles, IL.
Join us as we continue to gather together on Sunday mornings and in our Mission Groups meeting each week in homes.
