Seek the Things Above

Hope_Colossians_2022_SCREEN2

This Sunday we come to yet another majestic passage in Colossians. Paul begins chapter three by turning our eyes heavenward: “If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God” (Col. 3:1). After reading this verse, questions may be flooding your mind, such as:

  1. How am I raised with Christ?
  2. What are the “things that are above?”
  3. Why does it matter that Christ is at the right hand of God?

We will address those questions on Sunday, but in the meantime, marvel in the fact that Jesus has counted you as His own. Verse 3 goes on to say, “For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” Follower of Jesus, rejoice today that your identity is not defined by what you do (or fail to do). Instead, your identity is defined by and secure in Him.

We serve a Savior who is worthy of all our attention. Take a moment to read Colossians 3:1-4, and reflect upon who you are – a beloved child of the King of Kings.

See you on Sunday,

Pastor Eric
