Responding to the Word of the Cross
The world’s system says you need to “win” to get ahead. It rewards promoting your strengths and hiding your weaknesses. In this system, those who have it all together rise to the top. The rich. The bright. The beautiful. The powerful. The talented.
Not so in God’s kingdom. His kingdom is upside down. To gain entry, you must admit your weakness. You must confess your failures. You must acknowledge your dependence. In God’s kingdom, there is no need for pretense or covering up your true self. In God’s kingdom, you are not the center— that role belongs to Jesus.
Which reality is yours today-- the world’s system or God’s kingdom? You can know the answer by your response to the Word of the Cross.
Join us on Sunday as we explore this Word of the Cross in 1 Cor. 1:18-31. This is a message that divides humanity into two camps. How we respond to it is a matter of life and death.
See you soon,
Pastor Eric
