God Rules the Future
The future can be exciting and scary at the same time.
Jesus warned us to not be anxious about tomorrow because tomorrow will be anxious for itself (Matt. 6:34). That means there is nothing to be gained by worrying about what is to come. Friends, on this warm summer morning, take comfort in the fact that God perfectly plans and knows the future. This is true for individuals and nations.
Our preaching passage for Sunday, Daniel 11, shows us the depth with which the Lord knows the future. It is written in his book of truth. Nothing surprises God, because nothing is out of his sovereign control.
As you read the passage, marvel at God’s revelation about future events. As you do, let it lead to worship of the One who holds all things in his hands, the Savior whose death secured a better future than we could ever imagine, for those of us who believe.
See you on Sunday,
Pastor Eric
