When was the last time you stopped to consider, “What is my purpose in life?” or, “What am I really living for?” Given the busyness of our lives, it is much easier to merely “get through the day” than to dwell on these essential questions.

Often it takes a tragedy, or a changing season of life, or the death of a loved one to bring such questions to the forefront. That’s because these situations force us to fix our minds upon ultimate realities- life and death, heaven and hell, judgment and the resurrection.

This Sunday in Daniel 12, as we wrap up our series in Daniel, we will dwell upon these ultimate realities. The end of the book concerns the end of time, and the reality of an eternity beyond the grave. It is healthy for us to dwell here, especially because our belief about these matters impacts how we live today and where we will go when our days have ceased.

God is moving history to His desired end. The question is: are you ready for it?
